Proud Partners of the

Welcome to a very special place where the land animals of the tropical rainforest meet the sea critters of the warm Pacific Ocean…

Drake Bay, on the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica, is known by National Geographic to be one of the most biologically intense areas on Earth. This is a magical place where mega pods of various species of dolphins, whales, sea turtles and manta rays swim in warm, clear blue tropical waters and where Humpback Whales come from two different hemispheres to have their babies and breed.

On land you will experience all the wonders of Costa Rica's crown jewel rainforest, Corcovado National Park, including monkeys, sloths, toucans and macaws. You will see plants and animals found nowhere else in the world.

Only in Drake Bay, Costa Rica will you find this incredible combination of wildlife both on land and at sea. Take the Leap with The Divine Dolphin!

About Our Tour

The Divine Dolphin has been providing life changing opportunities to encounter wild Dolphins and Whales in their natural habitat of the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica since 1998, as well as conducting marine research, with local and foreign marine biologists and volunteers, towards the creation of a Marine Protected Area (MPA). Our world famous tours are a combination of natural and wild beauty, education, research and lots of FUN!

Costa Rica enjoys the longest season of Humpback Whales in the world as we get migrations from both North and South America who swim thousands of miles to have their babies and breed here. Pods of hundreds and even thousands of several species of dolphins enjoy the warm, productive, tropical waters here. It is truly one of the best places to experience dolphins and whales as we have so many different species throughout the year.

Many of our guests who interact with dolphins and whales experience changes in their spiritual awareness and an opening of the heart as well as a deep sense of peace and wellbeing. .You may also experience feelings of bliss, intense joy, emotional release and deep relaxation. This is the Love and Magic that the Dolphins and Whales bring to us… when we come to them with a pure and open heart.

Because of our love for the marine life here and the unfortunate threat of commercial fishing to this incredibly bio-diverse marine area, we are dedicated to research, conservation and education through our MPA for OSA campaign and our partnership with other international and national organizations. We have created a public campaign so that YOU can be a part of helping us to protect these waters. Please visit MPA for OSA to sign our Petition and learn more about our work to protect this marine wonderland.

The Divine Dolphin is the only tour operator in the area focused solely on dolphin and whale tours. By participating in The Divine Dolphin’s Whale and Dolphin Tour, you help us to get out on the water to do our much needed research, while providing to you a fun, educational and even spiritual experience. It is a win-win for all!

We have large resident pods of dolphins all year round and you can see dolphins at any time. We most commonly see Spotted Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins, Spinner Dolphins, Common Dolphins and Roughtooth Dolphins. Other species of dolphins also make an appearance from time to time. The very best time to see Humpback Whales is for our Southern Migration, between mid July through October. Weather wise, the best times are mid-December through mid-April and July through September. The rainy season (April-December) does not necessarily mean it rains all day, it usually means late afternoon showers, although of course, there are days that it rains all day. We rarely have to cancel tours for the weather.
