About The Divine Dolphin

The Divine Dolphin provides life changing encounters with wild Dolphins and Whales and other marine life in their natural habitat of the waters off of Drake Bay, Costa Rica. We have been featured on countless websites, in magazines, feature films and TV shows, including the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and most recently National Geographic.

The Divine Dolphin is Drake Bay’s original dolphin and whale tour and the only operator in the area focused solely on dolphin and whale watching. It’s what we do and ALL we do! Our world famous tours are a combination of wonder-full natural beauty, education, research and lots of FUN!

Many guests who interact with wild dolphins and whales experience changes in their spiritual awareness and an opening of the heart. They also experience a deep sense of peace and well-being. You may also experience feelings of bliss, intense joy, emotional release and deep relaxation. This is the Love and Magic that the Dolphins and Whales bring to us when we come to them with a pure and open heart.

Spinner Dolphin in Drake Bay, Costa Rica

Our Marine Wonderland

Over 25 species of dolphins and whales can be found off the waters of Drake Bay. Spotted, Spinner, Bottlenose, Common and Roughtooth Dolphins are all commonly encountered, as well as several species of whales.

Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula enjoys the longest season of Humpback Whales in the world as we get migrations from both North and South America. This happens no where else in the world. Humpback Whales swim thousands of miles to have their babies and breed here allowing us to see them all throughout the year.

Resident pods of hundreds and even thousands of several species of dolphins enjoy the warm, productive, tropical waters here. It is truly one of the best places in the world to encounter dolphins and whales as we have so many different species throughout the year.

Because of our love for the marine life here and the unfortunate threat of commercial fishing to this incredibly bio-diverse marine area, we are dedicated to research, conservation and education. The great news is that we now have a bill in the Costa Rican Congress to create the Marine Preserve here! Check out our MPA for OSA campaign to sign our Petition and learn more about our work to protect this marine wonderland.

By participating in The Divine Dolphin’s Whale and Dolphin Tour, you get us out on the water to collect much needed research towards creating a marine preserve, while providing to you a fun, educational and even spiritual experience. It is a win-win for all!

Our tour boat, Delfin Amor!

Delfin Amor (Dolphin Love) is our biggest custom designed dolphin and whale watching tour vessel. She was designed for our tours by Sierra, the Divine Dolphin’s owner, for maximum comfort and optimal viewing for everyone. She is open at the front with padding so that people can watch the dolphin and whales without obstruction, which is especially fun when the dolphins are swimming in the bow, as they often do. Delfin Amor has two quiet 4 stroke motors for safety, as well as satellite communication, long-distance marine radio and life jackets. She has a safe and sturdy ladder to get on and off the boat and a stereo for boat music fun. We know you will feel safe and comfortable as you experience our awesome marine wonderland! Delfin Amor is also available for private charters and groups.

Our newest addition to the family, Delfinita!

Delfinita is our newest tour boat. She is super sturdy and smooth. We use Delfinita when we have smaller groups of people and she has quickly become a favorite for up close and personal tours with the marine life of Drake Bay and the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica!
