Another Divine Day with the Spotted Dolphins!

We had six guests from all over the world on our tour. We started out with a few feeding dolphins, then LOTS of feeding dolphins until they all stopped to rest and we were blessed by being surrounded by hundreds of dolphins! And then there was the sound!! Check out the recording we made with our hydrophone on the tour. 

Drone Dolphins!!

We were hanging out with about 500 Pantropical Spotted Dolphins who had just finished feeding and now were in deep resting behaviors. They were still hanging around our boat, so I put the hydrophone into the water to hear if they were making any noise. Generally, when resting, dolphins do not make much noise, but since there were several pods spread over the area, they continued to sonar.

But then we heard it. The first time is at 55 seconds, but not as strong as at 2:22 seconds. They would come to the surface to breath, and then when they all went down together, they made sounds that sound exactly like a drone! I’ve never heard this sound like this before from our Homeboy Spotted Dolphins. I have yet to bring my drone out with them, so they didn’t get that sound from me!
