Among Whales
August 10-16, 2025- Drake Bay, Costa Rica
Experience the Divine Humpback Whales,
Dolphins and Rainforest of Costa Rica!
Being Among Whales will be your reality when you join us in Drake Bay, Costa Rica for the nature experience of a lifetime. Not only will you get to be among our abundant Humpback Whales who come to this area to birth and breed all the way from Antarctica, you also get to experience our crown jewel rainforest, Corcovado National Park, and hang out with the rainforest animals too.
You will stay at a beachfront hotel in the heart of Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula, known as the most biologically intense place on Earth and spend your days immersed in the very finest Nature has to offer, both on land and at sea.
This is whale watching and nature immersion at its absolute best!
This video is from our Among Whales trip!
You will get to truly experience what it is like to be Among Whales. Your travel package includes three full days of glorious whale encounters, allowing for the opportunity to witness many different behaviors including breaching, tail slapping, resting, traveling and heat runs (with sometimes 8-10 males after one female). While all the rowdy behaviors are thrilling and exciting, some of the most special moments are when the whales allow us to float along with them as they rest.
Here on the Osa Peninsula, a birthing and breeding ground for Humpback Whales, we get migrations from both North and South America and this is the only place in the world where Humpbacks come from two different hemispheres to have their babies and breed. During your visit, you will experience the thrill of watching our Southern Humpback Whales in the mating process and the tenderness of Mama Whale with her newborn baby. These whales have traveled up to 5,000 miles from Antarctica to be here, the longest migration by a mammal known to man.
Humpback Heat Run – Above and Below
One of the most amazing experiences is to hear the whales singing. Only the males sing either to attract a mate, let other whales know where they are or pass on messages as other whales can hear them up to 1,000 miles away. You will hear them through our hydrophone, and if we are close enough to a singer, we will get into the water where you can not only hear the whale song. but FEEL the vibration through your body!

Recordings from Drake Bay, Costa Rica on our Divine Dolphin Tour!
While this trip is focused on the Humpback Whales, you will most certainly get to hang out with our resident dolphins because they are so plentiful! The dolphins love to play with the whales, especially the babies, and even put themselves right in the middle of rowdy Humpbacks.
Besides all of the whale encounters you will experience, you will also visit Corcovado National Park, the crown jewel of Costa Rica’s rainforests and the most biologically intense place on Earth. Corcovado is home to 400 species of birds, 140 mammals, 116 species of amphibians and reptiles, 500 species of trees and 6000 species of insects. Corcovado National Park protects several endangered species including jaguar, puma, scarlet macaw, crocodiles, tapir, poison dart and golden frogs and the harpy eagle. Turtles lay their eggs on the beaches. Our guide will help you to see and identify the amazing amount of animals, trees and plants found here. You will hike through the rich rainforest with our talented and professional guide and see for yourself what Costa Rica is most famous for.
You will experience a wide variety of animals both on land and at sea,
some only found in this area.
